Typical Workflows
In SeisWorks/2D,you can create maps using:
?computed contours based on gridding
?computed contours based on triangulation
?manual contours
The most common approach is to begin with computed contours,which
can be quickly generated,and then convert them to manual contours,
which can be edited,for final refinement of the map.
No matter which type of contour you want to use,you must begin by
creating a mapping file(.dts).The map data used for generating
computed contours is stored in mapping files.When you create a
mapping file,a manual contour file(.mcf)is automatically created and
paired with it.Manual contour data is stored in the manual contour file.

gives a very broad overview of mapping in SeisWorks/2D.The next two
show the difference in approach if you choose gridded contours versus
triangulated contours.
