Communications technology provider Skymira will provide more than 4,000 of its SkyWave DMR-800D satellite terminals to monitor oil and gas well compressor systems throughout North America. The real-time monitoring solution will provide streamlined data transmission, promising a corresponding increase in productivity levels.

Compressco, a supplier of production enhancement technologies for marginal and low pressure oil and gas wells, selected Skymira to streamline information management processes for its GasJack compressor systems throughout North America. By integrating seamlessly with telemetry monitoring and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems on the compressors, the DMR-800D will allow Compressco to retrieve remote information on each unit’s performance in one common data stream in real time and regardless of its location.

The satellite terminals are simple to program and customize for individual applications. In addition, they provide wireless or satellite communication with field workers and monitoring of unmanned equipment and pipelines in a secure information environment. The solution reportedly complements both fixed and mobile remote applications on land or sea, making it well suited for asset tracking of fleet management.
