Subsea technology and services firm Triton Group will unveil its latest generation remotely-operated vehicle (ROV) during the 2009 Offshore Europe Conference and Exhibition, Europe’s largest oil and gas show, with a launch event at its Aberdeen service center on 9 September.
The 125-HP vehicle known as the Triton XLR was designed and manufactured by Triton Group company Perry Slingsby Systems. It was designed for drill and light construction work and incorporates the latest technology, including the company’s ICE Integrated real-time Control Engine with GHz graphical link, intuitive graphic user interface, Ethernet telemetry, and ergonomic pilot control consoles with touch screen technology.
The XLR, which is the latest evolution of the Triton series and “baby brother” to the heavy-duty Triton XLX, will be unveiled to customers during an open house at the company’s Blackburn facility.
“The Triton XLR is the next step in the evolution of subsea systems which started with the XL,” said Martin Anderson, chief executive of Triton Group. “Our aim was to create an innovative system which offers the utmost in efficiency and reliability for the lightweight end of the market.
